The objective of this group is to help people establish not only their ancestral lineage but also to fill in the details of their family history.
- Where did their ancestors live?
- What did they do?
- Where did they come from?
These are all questions that impact on our understanding of our families. A large part of our time is trying to show people the techniques which are used in genealogy research, and to that end conduct real time online research to both demonstrate these techniques and to help members with “Brick Walls”. Between us we have a wide range of experience and can help with research both in the UK and also overseas. Membership of the group ranges from very experienced to complete novice, so nobody need have any inhibitions about joining us.
Meetings are normally conducted by one of the group dealing with a specific topic and we welcome questions from our members on problem topics. We also welcome requests for help with online research.
