All are welcome at the History Talks: these start at 10am sharp, at Uttoxeter Cinebowl, usually Screen 3 which can accommodate around 100 people, so just turn up to any talk that takes your interest! We meet during school term time only, and, having a varied and interesting programme of talks arranged, hope to see members old and new joining us. The talks are on many subjects not necessarily "history" as you might remember from your school days! No need to book beforehand, just turn up, and you are welcome to join us for a coffee at the Cinebowl after the talk.
There will be no talk on 26th October due to it being half term
On 11th May we had a very interesting talk by Dave Marriott on the History of Uttoxeter Streets, in memory of Trish Hebda. This unusual approach to local History has since been adopted by other History Groups around the country and provides a fascinating insight into the history of places that is often overlooked. The talk was attended by 62 people, the largest audience that the History Group has had so far, and was a great success.
