Physics will restart on Friday 11th September, 10am at Wilfred House.
We will be beginning with a study of the structure of the Earth, plate tectonics and the Earth’s magnetic field.
On 3rd July we concluded our study of optics by considering the topic of colour, and on 10th July Jenny Lingham gave a talk about the life of Dame Jocelyn Bell-Burnell, astrophysicist and past president of the Institute of Physics.
Did you miss out on the chance of studying physics at school? Or did you go to physics classes without really getting to grips with it at all? Why not give it another try with our Friday morning u3a Physics group? You don’t need to have any previous scientific knowledge in order to enjoy these sessions.
We meet at 10am on Friday mornings during school term time. Sessions last for 1½ hours with a short half-time break, and are designed to be accessible whatever your level of scientific knowledge. If you didn’t study physics at school don’t let that put you off!
Ideas for future topics are always welcomed, so if you would like to join our group to learn more about a particular physics topic, please get in touch.
