Numbers have been up again recently, and we have been particularly pleased that two members have been able to join us again after long absences.

Rather than focusing so exclusively on each person playing a separate part, the Friday Group has also sometimes been doubling up on parts recently in order to play a more challenging range of trios and quartets.

Meanwhile the more experienced players have been practising playing treble instruments "up an octave" (an essential skill for tackling some Baroque music) - and discovering that it is not as hard to do as it sounds!

We always welcome new members who can already read classical music notation and have some previous recorder-playing experience (even if this was only in your schooldays!), but we can also point complete beginners to resources which will enable you to acquire these skills with a view to joining the group later.

If you would like to come and try out a Monday afternoon session - or even just to sit in and listen. please contact Cath Platt by clicking on her name, above.
